With the flowing abstract pictures, I allow the painting to develop of its own accord, more than with any other paintings I have done before.
Each one starts with a palette and an idea or at least an emotion. From then on, the painting is improvised. As it progresses, the form becomes clearer, and I can begin to make more aesthetic decisions. I try to let the picture blend into itself in a natural or organic way. This seems to me to be a wonderful method of combining the expression of my subconscious with my conscious aesthetics.
